Scott LK-150 Amplifier, Very Clean, All Original, Rebuilt Power Supply. Designed and manufactured late in the Golden Era of tube audio amplifiers. This example is all original parts no repairs no modification. The power and output transformers are enormous , maybe larger than the Harman Kardon Citation II. Chassis gold anodizing is original color and not faded from sun exposure or temperature and moisture out in the garage.
The previous owners cared and appreciated this amplifier. Transformers paint is not beat up with scratches and paint chips. The paint condition is better than any other LK-150 you will find. Output tube are pair of vintage RCA labeled (Tung-Sol) 6550, and pair of Tung-Sol labeled 6550.
Tubes have been tested on Amplitrex AT1000. Tubes test very close to new and matched in pairs. The two rectifiers are vintage Mullard f32. 7199 tubes are low hours vintage production. Bias meter on front panel works fine. This LK-150 was a kit. The solder joints and lead dressing is very good. The original assembler know how solder and had many hours of experience. All three of the B+ power supply capacitors are new production CE Manufacturing (Antique Radio Supply). Caps are mounted using the original bakelite mounting brackets. The original rivets for these brackets is visible instead of machine screw heads in this position.The of LK-150 chassis mounted power supply capacitors are missing one. These capacitors have voltage on the capacitors bodies - (Please do not bridge the capacitor bodies and the chassis with your hands). Please note the LK-150 circuit components are almost 60 years old. The LK-150 is delivered in working condition and it sounds great. Cannot be responsible for life expectancy of 65 year old circuit components.
