Star Trek Tricorder Prop, Metal All Around, Pro Built, High Grade

Here is a great tribute piece of Classic Star Trek History. This is a replica of the LEGENDARY TOS Tricorder. Due to popular demand, we have partnered with a craftsman with over 40 years of experience and expertise in this rare replica from Classic Star Trek TOS fandom. This is NOT a cheap nor poor quality FAST build.

This is a static prop like the ones used on the TV show. The TV show props had no electronics in them.

All metal and Kydex construction. Interior of drop-down doors in upper and lower sections are finished with black hair-cell Kydex (not styrene) over a four sided frame to give a clean and professional look. The Interior has vanity-panels above and below the memory disc area so that you do not see; behind-the-scenes, as it were. The lower door is secured with multiple hidden neodymium magnets so it stays shut. On-Set the doors fell open so often the prop masters often shimmed them closed with cardboard.

High quality 43 inch long leather strap secured with stainless steel screws over hidden brass collets to allow for a super tight fit of shell and a secure strap. This replica has vintage sapphire watch crown jewels to mimic the historic static Greg Jein Tricorder. Tricorder knobs and face-plate are CNC perfection and, the knobs are secured with machine screws. The Moire disc is upgraded to the Greg Jein style as seen on his Set Used prop. And no resin-cast parts masquerading as machined parts.

All metal edges and radii hand sanded for a Master Replicas grade finish and NO-NIBBLE-MARKS are visible on any metal part. Mid-bar was hand finished and milled.

Stainless steel center rear screw added to middle-back for screen accuracy. Speaker grill is real 1960s Coronet radio metal fabric.

This is intended to be a display prop. BUT the hood is hinged on a full width ¼ inch aluminum rod-axle secured at both ends with screws and running in a metal bearing. However, be gentle with the hood as the left upper interior corner of the hood material is very thin (SEE LISTING PHOTOS). The bottom features a painted aluminum plate secured with four brass countersunk screws and nuts, all painted flat black. (in the Who Mourns For Adonais Episode style). All components are secured with machine screws and nuts wherever possible then set with LocTite and/or epoxy to prevent the assembly from getting loose.
