Vintage antique EI HORSMAN composition doll & cloth woodwool filled jointed AETNA DC. A Rare Vintage Antique 1920's-1930's EI HORSMAN composition & cloth woodwool filled body jointed doll. This mark stands for "Edward Imeson Horsman" & "Aetna Doll Company".
Horsman took over Aetna doll co in 1925. This rare antique Horsman doll has composition "can't break em" shoulder head, painted eyes and features, glued on auburn (reddish brown) real hair, the body is cloth with jointed limbs.
The body of this doll is filled with wood wool or similar and limbs are filled with a slightly softer type filling. This vintage/ antique girl doll was made in USA. Condition-this doll has some hair loss/ balding and has nails either side of the head (see pics 9&10). Has a small minor crack to the shoulder and slight crazing to the neck (see pic 11) also has some scuffs and marks. The body has heavy staining/ yellowing and some of the pins that hold the flap on the chest and back are missing.
This doll also comes with shirt, trousers and faux leather shoes..... I'm not sure if the clothes are original to this doll, but they were on it when I acquired it. The clothes and shoes are well worn and have some tearing, staining, fraying, fading, discolouration and cracking/peeling to the shoes.A Rare Vintage Antique 1920's-1930's.
